The Celtic Cross
This symbol of eternity for the Celts was a pattern of two intertwined spirals facing different directions. They embody the endless cycle of birth, life and death and they have no beginning or end.
Sometimes they symbolize development, as the movement inward of the spiral reflects the invisible process of personal evolution. In a broader sense, this is a symbol of any transformation and change – not necessarily spiritual. In China, the Double Spiral represents harmony between Yin and Yang – two opposites that unite into one whole.
