Field of Vision Posters

“If you go off into a far, far forest and get very quiet, you’ll come to understand that you’re connected with everything.”

Alan Watts

These are my Field of Vision posters. A few years ago while walking our dog, Maggie (right) on the Branford Land Trust trails, I started shooting panorama images with my iPhone. It was all very experimental. I’d see a scene I’d like and shoot it several different ways, varying the angle and height. When I was back in the studio, I’d take a look at them. Sometimes I got a version I liked, but shooting this way has a very low success rate. Many of the photos were just awful. Over a couple of years, I had a decent-sized library of images I really like and decided to make them into posters which I sold on Etsy. All of the posters can be seen on this page.

Seasons Series A

“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.”

Robert Louis Stevenson

Seasons Series B

“Going to the woods is going home, for I suppose we came from the woods originally.”

Henry David Thoreau

The Rest of the Posters

“I tried to discover, in the rumor of forests and waves, words that other men could not hear, and I pricked up my ears to listen to the revelation of their harmony.”

Gustave Flaubert
