GBD Works Start Page

I’ve always been fascinated by “making of” documentaries. In graphic design, so much happens “behind-the-scenes”. Here I’m sharing the backstory from some of my favorite pieces.

Behind the clean vector lines, perfect typography, and polished branding that make up a final graphic design deliverable lies a chaotic, highly iterative, and deeply analytical creative process. Before a single pixel is moved in Illustrator or Figma, the work begins with research, competitive auditing, and strategy—translating vague client ideas into explicit visual objectives through mood boards, site maps, and conceptual briefs. The middle phase is a flurry of messiness: dozens of rejected logo concepts, hours spent testing micro-adjustments to font kerning and line-height, and agonizing over color palettes to ensure both emotional resonance and accessibility compliance. Design is rarely a flash of divine inspiration; it is an endurance exercise of trial, error, file management (from final_v1.ai to final_FINAL_v6_export.pdf), and constant feedback integration, balancing aesthetic intuition with real-world functional constraints.
