The Shamrock
In Celtic legend, the shamrock aided Saint Patrick, a Christian missionary to explain the “three hypostases of the Trinity.”
The Celts believed that the shamrock (which would become synonymous with Ireland) would protect them against any number of bad events. The plant was believed to have mystical powers. In addition, it would stand up straight when there was an impending storm.
